Welcome to the 19th International Harp Contest in Acre. We greet all contestants, members of the Jury and guests who have come to one of the oldest cities in the world, whose history goes back to the Bronze Age and who is mentioned in the Bible. Acre, in the northern coastal plain of the Mediterranean, connects continents.
Acre was designated in 2001 by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Jews and Arabs live in Acre side by side in peace.
We welcome the contestants, the members of the Jury and our guests and wish you all good luck, pleasant memories,
great careers and enjoyment learning about an ancient city in the Holy Land.
May we thank the Mayor, Mr. Lankri, for his hospitality.
