1. The 17th International Harp Contest will be held 6 October – 20 October, 2009.
2. The Contest is open to harpists of all nationalities, who have not passed their 35th birthday by 1 October, 2009.
3. Participation will be limited to 36 contestants. A maximum of 18 will pass to the 2nd Stage. 6 contestants will pass to the Semi-Final Stage. 3 will pass to the Final Stage.
4. All applications will be screened by the Music Committee. All free choice repertoire must be approved by the Music Committee.
5. Performances at all stages will be open to the public.
6. Contestants who do not observe performance time as indicated in the Contest repertoire (duration of free choice repertoire) will be disqualified.
7. Half board and lodging will be provided by the Contest for each contestant who is actively participating in the Contest.
8. Lyon and Healy and Salvi harps will be available
for use by contestants.
9. Travel expenses and transportation of private harps to and from Israel
will be covered by participants

Applications for entry must be accompanied by the following documents which will not be returned to the sender.
List of documents:
a) A Birth Certificate
b) A colored photograph, suitable for reproduction by internet, in JPG file.
c) Certificates of studies, including results obtained, diplomas, listing names of teachers, number of years spent studying.
d) Letters from two teachers recommending participation in the 17th International Harp Contest.
e) Additional recommendations from two musicians of recognized international stature.
f) Details and published references of musical activities (concerts and recitals given, programs, press releases, and reviews).
g) Particulars regarding participation in regional, national or international contests and prizes obtained.
h) A non-refundable registration fee of US$250 (two hundred and fifty US Dollars) to be remitted to "Harp & Zamir Society".
An English translation of all documents is obligatory.
